Sobre Backpack Card

Backpack Card extends Backpack Exchange into payments rather than operating as a separate crypto-card service. The idea is to keep trading balances, lending, investments and card spending inside the same account, with funds moved to a dedicated card balance when needed.

The product is currently in private beta and is not available for general public applications. Backpack officially lists early card access as an upcoming benefit of the BP staking program, so broader availability is expected to remain tied to account eligibility and Backpack's rollout schedule.

Card structure

Private-beta users report a Mastercard debit card connected directly to Backpack Exchange. Funds can be transferred from the exchange account to the card balance without first withdrawing them to a bank or external payment service.

The beta also includes mobile-wallet support, with Apple Pay and Google Pay reported by testers. Backpack has not yet published final public terms confirming whether these features, card tiers and regional conditions will remain unchanged after launch.

Because the card uses funds held within Backpack Exchange rather than the separate Backpack self-custody wallet, the card balance should be treated as custodial.

Fees and rewards

Backpack has not published a complete official card fee schedule yet. FX charges, ATM fees, spending limits and card issuance costs therefore remain unconfirmed for the public product.

Beta users have also reported yield on idle card balances, but Backpack has not published a final APY formula or confirmed that the same terms will apply after the full rollout.

There is currently no official public cashback program attached to Backpack Card.

Availability

Backpack Card is not yet broadly available. Access during the current testing phase appears to be limited to selected Backpack users, while the official BP staking program specifically lists early card access as one of its upcoming benefits.

KYC should be expected because the card is tied to a verified Backpack Exchange account and regulated payment infrastructure.

How to get the Backpack Card

  1. Create and verify a Backpack Exchange account.

  2. Hold or stake BP if required for the relevant access tier.

  3. Check the Backpack app or account dashboard for card eligibility.

  4. Join the early-access flow when it becomes available.

  5. Review the final fees and regional conditions before activating the card.

  6. Fund the card balance from the Backpack Exchange account.

Perguntas frequentes

Respostas rápidas para dúvidas comuns sobre Backpack Card.

Ainda tem uma pergunta?
Is the Backpack Card available now?

Backpack Card is currently being used by a limited group of private-beta users, but it has not launched for the general public. Backpack officially lists early access to the card as an upcoming benefit of its BP staking program.

What are the Backpack Card fees?

Backpack has not yet published a complete public fee schedule for the card. Issuance costs, FX fees, ATM charges and final spending limits should be checked once the product moves beyond private beta.

Is Backpack Card non-custodial?

No. Backpack Wallet itself is self-custodial, but Backpack Card is connected to the Backpack Exchange environment. Funds held for card spending therefore sit within the custodial exchange and card infrastructure rather than directly in the user's self-custody wallet.
