Avici Card is a secured credit card connected to the Avici self-custodial wallet. Rather than transferring funds into a conventional custodial card balance, users deposit USDC into an escrow smart contract and receive a corresponding USD spending balance on the card.
The underlying escrow remains self-custodial. The user's wallet owns the contract, while the card infrastructure can only access the amount required to settle confirmed card spending. After a purchase, the corresponding USDC is periodically deducted from the escrow to settle the transaction.
Although the card contract itself uses USDC, Avici allows users to fund it with other tokens. Assets can be swapped and bridged into USDC in the background through the platform before being added to the card balance.
Virtual and physical Visa cards are available in Platinum and Signature tiers. Virtual cards work with Apple Pay and Google Pay, while physical cards support contactless payments and ATM withdrawals. Multiple virtual cards can be created under the same account, with individual labels and spending limits, although they share the same overall spending balance.
Card tiers and fees
The virtual Platinum card currently costs $15 for the first card and $10 for each additional card, with no recurring fee. The virtual Signature card costs $30 for the first year and $20 per year afterward.
Physical Platinum costs $50 with no recurring card fee. Physical Signature costs $75 initially and $20 per year from the second year. Standard untracked physical-card delivery is free, while priority international shipping costs $50.
Avici lists no standard card transaction fee and no markup of its own on foreign exchange. Visa may still apply a cross-border charge of roughly 0.4–1% on non-USD transactions.
ATM pricing depends on the tier. Platinum withdrawals cost $1 plus 0.65% per transaction, while Signature currently has no Avici ATM withdrawal fee. ATM operators can still impose their own charges.
Avici's current documentation contains conflicting figures for ATM withdrawal limits on different pages, so the live limit shown in the app should be treated as authoritative.
Verification and availability
KYC is required for both virtual and physical cards. Verification is handled through Sumsub and includes personal information, identity documents and a liveness check. Avici also applies ongoing AML monitoring to users and onchain funds associated with the card.
Card availability is restricted by jurisdiction. Avici currently supports a selection of markets across Latin America, Asia, Africa, Oceania, the UAE and the United States, while several countries are explicitly excluded. Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, India, mainland China and a number of other jurisdictions are currently unsupported for card issuance.
The Avici wallet itself has broader availability than the card, so access to the wallet should not be taken as confirmation that the Visa card can be issued in the same country.
