About Belo Card

Belo Card is the prepaid Mastercard integrated into the belo wallet. It is available in virtual and physical formats and can be used for online and in-store payments worldwide, while the physical card also supports ATM withdrawals in Argentina.

Unlike cards built around a separate USD card balance, belo lets users choose which assets from their account should be used first for payments. The wallet can hold Argentine pesos and cryptocurrencies, and the preferred spending order can be configured from the app.

The underlying belo account is custodial. Crypto held in the account is stored through belo or its custody providers rather than remaining under the user's own private keys.

Fees

The card has no issuance, shipping or maintenance fee.

International transactions can carry an additional charge. Belo currently lists a minimum fee of 0.30 USDT for international purchases and 0.40 USDT for certain merchant categories, including some digital goods and gaming-related payments.

ATM withdrawals carry a fee of 3%, subject to a minimum charge of 0.50 USDT. Replacing a physical card currently costs 2.50 USDT.

Belo does not require users to manually convert crypto before making a purchase. The selected balance is used according to the payment order configured in the app, while the merchant receives the corresponding fiat currency.

Virtual and physical cards

The virtual card can be created directly from the app and is available immediately after issuance. Belo currently allows up to three virtual cards per calendar year.

The physical card is also free, but it cannot be requested immediately by every new user. To unlock it, the user must either have used the virtual card for more than one month or complete more than ten approved purchases with it.

Both virtual and physical belo Mastercard cards can be added to Google Pay. Apple Pay support is not currently listed by belo.

Availability

Belo Mastercard is currently limited to users who opened their account with an Argentine DNI or passport. A physical card also requires a delivery address in Argentina.

This restriction applies specifically to the card. Other belo wallet functions are available in additional countries, so access to a belo account does not automatically mean the user is eligible for the Mastercard.

How to get the Belo Card

  1. Create a belo account and complete identity verification.

  2. Open the Cards section in the app.

  3. Request the virtual belo Mastercard.

  4. Configure the preferred order of currencies used for payments.

  5. Use the virtual card for at least one month or complete more than ten approved transactions to unlock the physical card.

  6. Request the physical card and provide an Argentine delivery address.

  7. Activate the physical card from the app after delivery.

  8. Add either card to Google Pay if required.
