BenPay Card is a set of virtual Visa cards connected to the self-custodial BenPay ecosystem on BenFen. The current lineup consists of Alpha, Sigma and Delta, with each card using a different fee structure rather than a conventional subscription-tier model.
Card balances can be funded with USDT or USDC across multiple networks. BenPay currently supports deposits through Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base and several other chains, with supported stablecoins converted into the settlement balance used by the card.
A distinctive part of the product is its on-chain architecture. BenPay states that users retain control of their private keys and that card funding and balance management are handled through smart contracts rather than centralized custody. Card balances can also be allocated to BenPay's on-chain yield feature and redeemed when needed for spending.
Alpha, Sigma and Delta
Alpha is structured around a 0% top-up fee. It has no monthly fee, charges 1% on transactions and currently applies a 1.5% cross-border fee with a $0.01 minimum. Its daily spending limit is $10,000, while the total published card limit is $200,000.
Sigma uses a 1.5% top-up fee and a 0.5% transaction fee. Instead of a percentage-based FX charge, non-USD payments carry a fixed $0.50 cross-border fee. The first month is free and the recurring fee is $1 per month afterward. Its published daily spending limit is substantially higher at $300,000.
Delta has a 0.5% top-up fee and is aimed more at frequent online and subscription payments. Current documentation lists transaction authorization charges in addition to percentage-based fees, so its effective cost depends more heavily on transaction frequency and currency. The published daily spending limit is $100,000.
All three cards currently have no annual fee. BenPay's live fee documentation lists a $9.90 issuance fee, although promotional pricing can appear on individual card application pages, so the amount shown during issuance should take precedence.
Mobile payments and card use
Mobile-wallet support differs by card. Alpha supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, while Delta is also documented with Apple Pay and Google Pay compatibility. Sigma is positioned more toward Asian payment services such as Alipay and WeChat Pay.
The cards are currently virtual. BenPay has announced physical cards and ATM withdrawals, but these features are still marked as coming soon and should not be treated as part of the current product.
Verification and availability
A valid identity document is required for card issuance, and BenPay operates a separate KYC system for regulated services.
BenPay markets the card globally and does not impose a staking requirement or minimum crypto holding for application. Actual issuance can still depend on compliance checks, card-partner restrictions and the user's jurisdiction, so eligibility should be confirmed during the application process.
