About Bitrefill Card

Bitrefill Card is a Visa card connected to Bitrefill's crypto payment ecosystem. Users fund a separate card balance with cryptocurrency, which is converted into euros and then used for regular card payments, ATM withdrawals or transfers to a bank account.

The card is available in both virtual and physical formats. Bitrefill does not require users to keep their crypto with the company before they want to spend it: funds can remain in an external wallet until they are transferred to the card. Once deposited, however, the crypto custody and exchange layer is handled by Lightspark Payments Europe, while Wallester issues the Visa card.

The current card interface supports direct crypto deposits, with Bitrefill's pricing documentation explicitly listing BTC, including Lightning, ETH and USDC across selected networks. Bitrefill's help center also documents additional supported assets on some card flows, so the live deposit options should be checked before sending funds. The minimum card top-up is €15.

Fees and limits

There is no monthly fee and both the virtual and physical cards are currently advertised without an issuance fee. Crypto deposits use a variable conversion spread rather than a single fixed top-up percentage; the final EUR amount is shown before the deposit is confirmed.

ATM withdrawals cost 2.49% and are available only with the physical card. The current ATM limits are €350 per day and €3,000 per month.

The Starter tier allows up to €10,000 of spending per day and €10,000 per month, with a €15,000 lifetime crypto deposit limit. After additional source-of-funds and address checks, the Plus tier removes the lifetime deposit cap and raises monthly spending to €15,000 while keeping the €10,000 daily limit.

A €10 monthly inactivity fee can apply after 12 consecutive months without card spending or cash-out activity. Bitrefill sends advance notices before the fee starts.

Cashback and rewards

Bitrefill currently offers two separate 1% rewards. Users receive 1% on eligible crypto deposits to the card and another 1% on eligible card purchases, giving an effective combined reward of up to 2% when the same funds are both deposited and subsequently spent.

The reward is credited in euros, but it is not cash paid back to the card balance. It can be converted into Bitrefill store credit and used for products such as gift cards, eSIMs and mobile refills.

ATM withdrawals, card-to-bank cash outs and some other transaction categories do not generate cashback.

Users who deposit more than €500 of crypto to the card during a month can also qualify for a monthly eSIM reward with up to 20 GB of data.

Card use and availability

The physical card can be used for purchases and cash withdrawals anywhere supported Visa transactions are accepted, subject to Bitrefill's restricted-country list. The virtual card supports Google Pay. Apple Pay is not currently supported.

Bitrefill Card is currently available to verified adult residents of selected EEA countries, including most EU member states as well as Norway and Iceland. KYC is mandatory and higher limits require additional proof of address and source-of-funds verification.

The card also includes a virtual IBAN and supports SEPA cash-out to a bank account. This makes the card balance usable for more than card spending, although availability of the cash-out feature can vary by country.
