Getting a crypto card with no issuance or maintenance fees in 2026 is entirely possible. WhiteBIT, OKX, Bybit, MetaMask and other services offer virtual cards that can be used for online and in-store purchases without a mandatory subscription.
However, a free card does not always mean free payments. Some providers charge fees for cryptocurrency conversion, international transactions or extended inactivity. We selected eight crypto cards with free basic plans and examined where additional costs may arise.
Which Crypto Cards Qualify as Free?
For this ranking, cards qualify as free if obtaining a virtual version does not require an issuance fee or a mandatory paid subscription. The absence of a monthly fee was also one of the main criteria.
It is important to distinguish between the cost of the card itself and transaction costs. For example, a free virtual card may charge a cryptocurrency conversion fee when making a payment, while its physical version may come with a delivery charge.
Regional restrictions also matter. The terms of the same service can differ significantly for users in Europe, Asia and other regions.
Top 8 Free Crypto Cards of 2026
1. WhiteBIT Nova
WhiteBIT Nova is a virtual and physical Visa card integrated with the WhiteBIT cryptocurrency exchange. The virtual card is free to issue, with no monthly maintenance fee.
Nova's main feature is its cashback program, which pays rewards in BTC or WBT. Users can select categories for higher cashback, with rates reaching 10%. However, rewards are capped at €25 per month.
The card supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, so the virtual version is sufficient for both online and in-store purchases.
However, some transactions may incur a fee of up to 1%. Cash withdrawals using the physical card also carry a fee: €3 within the European Economic Area and €3 plus 2.2% outside it. Delivery charges may apply when ordering a physical card.
WhiteBIT Nova is an option for users who want a free crypto card and additional rewards on everyday purchases. But when assessing its value, transaction fees should be considered alongside cashback.
2. Bleap Card
Bleap Card stands out for its payment terms. The service charges no fees for card issuance, monthly maintenance or cryptocurrency-to-fiat conversion when making payments.
The Mastercard works with a non-custodial wallet based on MPC technology. Users can hold and manage digital assets through the app without giving the service sole control of their private key.
Bleap also states that it charges no fees of its own for international payments and applies no foreign exchange markup. ATM withdrawals are free within a set monthly limit, although third-party operators may impose their own fees.
An additional benefit is cashback in USDC. The reward rate is determined by the program's current terms, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed fixed percentage.
Bleap's main limitation is availability. Card issuance depends on country of residence, citizenship and payment partners' terms. Before registering, check whether your region is supported.
Bleap is particularly appealing to those who frequently make purchases in different currencies and want to avoid additional conversion costs.
3. OKX Card
OKX Card is a virtual card linked to the OKX Pay payment service. There are no issuance, monthly or annual maintenance, or inactivity fees.
One of the card's main advantages is its transparent conversion terms. For the European version, OKX states that it charges no fees of its own for converting the supported stablecoins USDT, USDC and USDG into dollars when making payments. Payments in other currencies use Mastercard's exchange rate, with no additional markup from OKX.
Another feature is cashback on eligible purchases made using USDG. Standard users in Europe receive a base rate of 2%, while higher rewards are available at certain VIP tiers.
The card is available only in virtual form and is supported in a limited number of regions. A physical version cannot be ordered, and identity verification is required to apply.
OKX Card suits those who regularly use stablecoins and want a payment tool without mandatory maintenance costs.
4. Bybit Card
Bybit Card lets users pay for purchases using funds in their cryptocurrency account. The virtual version is free to issue, with no annual or inactivity fees.
The card operates through international payment networks and supports contactless payments in available regions. It also offers a points program, with points redeemable for rewards.
However, free maintenance does not eliminate transaction costs. For example, the European version of Bybit Card charges a 0.9% cryptocurrency conversion fee and a 0.5% foreign exchange fee on top of Mastercard's exchange rate.
A separate issuance fee may apply to the physical card. Terms and fees vary by region, so it is important to check the local version of Bybit Card before ordering.
The card is primarily convenient for existing Bybit users. They do not need to learn how to use a separate wallet or transfer assets to another ecosystem just to make everyday payments.
5. MetaMask Card
MetaMask Card differs from most exchange-linked products in how funds are held. Cryptocurrency remains under the user's control in a non-custodial wallet and is debited at the time of payment.
The virtual Mastercard is free to issue, with no monthly or annual maintenance fees. It supports payments using USDC, USDT, mUSD and other available tokens on supported blockchains.
Eligible purchases earn 1% cashback in mUSD. However, transactions may incur network fees and other costs associated with the asset used.
MetaMask also offers a premium physical Metal card costing $199 per year, but it is not required for everyday payments. New Metal orders are temporarily suspended, as is registration for new card users in the US and the UK.
MetaMask Card is an option for those who already self-custody their cryptocurrency and do not want to transfer it to a centralized platform to make purchases.
6. Nexo Card
Nexo Card offers two ways to use cryptocurrency. In debit mode, purchases are paid for using available funds; in credit mode, they are funded through a loan backed by digital assets.
The virtual card can be activated for free with at least $50 in a Nexo account. There are no monthly or annual fees for using it.
The virtual version supports Apple Pay and Google Pay. A physical card is also available under specific conditions, requiring an asset balance above $5000 and a loyalty tier of Gold or higher.
Additional costs include foreign exchange fees. In Europe, these may be 0.2% on weekdays and 0.7% on weekends, with higher rates for transactions outside the main supported regions.
Nexo Card suits users who want not only a free payment tool but also the option to choose between spending assets and using secured credit. However, credit mode requires separate consideration of borrowing costs and the associated risks.
7. ether.fi Cash
ether.fi Cash combines a Visa payment card with decentralized finance tools. Users can spend available stablecoins or use a secured loan to pay for purchases.
On the basic Core tier, the first virtual card is free in most supported regions. Additional virtual cards cost $10, while a physical card for Core users costs $50.
There are also regional exceptions. In certain countries, including Argentina, Mexico and Indonesia, even the first virtual card may cost $10.
Beyond payments, ether.fi Cash offers cashback in ETHFI and access to yield-generating tools. However, secured borrowing involves additional risks, including changes in collateral value and the possibility of position liquidation.
ether.fi Cash is an option for experienced DeFi users who want a payment tool within cryptocurrency infrastructure they already know.
8. Crypto.com Card
Crypto.com Card is one of the best-known cryptocurrency payment cards. The basic tier offers a virtual card with no issuance, monthly or annual maintenance fees.
The card is integrated with the Crypto.com app and can be topped up with cryptocurrency or fiat money. In supported regions, the virtual card can be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Users can choose to upgrade to a higher tier of the Level Up program for additional benefits, including cashback and reimbursements for certain subscriptions. However, these plans may require a paid subscription or a CRO allocation.
The free tier also has limitations. For example, in Europe, topping up with another bank card may incur a 1% fee, while the physical Midnight card costs €4.99.
In addition, the European fee schedule provides for a €6 monthly fee from October 2026 after 12 months without financial activity on the card. The fee stops being charged when use resumes.
Crypto.com Card suits those who want to start with a free payment tool and access additional benefits within the service's ecosystem if needed.
Which Free Crypto Card Should You Choose in 2026?
If your main criterion is keeping everyday payment costs to a minimum, Bleap and OKX Card are worth considering. The former stands out for applying no foreign exchange markup of its own, while the latter offers free maintenance and conversion of supported stablecoins.
WhiteBIT Nova and Bybit Card offer a combination of free issuance and rewards programs, although fees for certain transactions may reduce the benefits.
MetaMask Card is worth considering for those who prioritize self-custody of their cryptocurrency. Nexo and ether.fi Cash offer additional borrowing options, while Crypto.com provides paid tiers with expanded benefits.
Free issuance is only the starting point for comparison. Before applying, check conversion costs, top-up terms, inactivity fees and card availability in your country. These factors determine the actual cost of using the card.
How We Selected the Free Crypto Cards
The ranking includes products offering a free virtual card without a mandatory paid subscription in at least some supported regions.
Our comparison considered issuance and maintenance costs, payment and conversion fees, contactless payment support, verification requirements and geographic availability.
Additional benefits, including cashback, support for multiple assets and self-custody of cryptocurrency, were assessed separately. The rankings reflect the overall combination of features, not just the absence of an issuance fee.
Terms were checked against the services' published fee schedules as of October 2026. For some cards, service costs depend on the country and may change.
