About Plasma One Card

Plasma One Card is a stablecoin-powered Visa card that allows users to spend digital dollars for everyday purchases while keeping their money within the Plasma ecosystem.

The card is part of Plasma One, a stablecoin-focused financial app built around spending, saving, transfers and yield. Users can hold stablecoins, make card payments, send funds to other users and withdraw money to supported bank accounts or wallets from the same app.

Plasma One offers both virtual and physical cards. The card is issued by Rain, a Visa Principal Member, and can be used online and in stores wherever Visa is accepted. Plasma states that its cards work at more than 175 million merchants across over 180 countries.

Background

Plasma introduced Plasma One in September 2025 as a stablecoin-native alternative to traditional banking apps. The service was designed to make dollar-denominated stablecoins easier to use for everyday payments, international transfers and savings.

The product combines Plasma's blockchain infrastructure with financial services provided by external partners. Global account infrastructure is powered by Bridge, while Rain handles the Visa card program.

Unlike a traditional bank account, Plasma One is built around stablecoins. Plasma does not operate as a bank and does not custody users' digital assets. Stablecoin balances remain owned and controlled by the user.

The company has continued expanding the product with multiple card tiers, higher cashback levels, yield features and additional benefits for frequent users.

Terms and fees

The entry-level Plasma One Lite Card costs $0 and includes one free virtual card.

Plasma states that it does not charge additional fees for its Platinum tier, while standard or reduced fees can apply to lower membership levels depending on the service being used.

Users can send supported stablecoins to other Plasma One users with $0 transfer fees when using eligible Plasma routes. Third-party fees can still apply when adding or withdrawing money through external providers.

Foreign exchange and other card-related costs depend on the membership tier. Platinum includes covered FX fees, while Lite uses standard fees and Core offers reduced fees.

Users should also consider potential fees charged by external banks, payment providers, on-ramps or off-ramps when moving money into or out of Plasma One.

Key features

Plasma One offers a tiered card system with three main levels — Lite, Core and Platinum.

The free Lite Card provides:

  • 2% base cashback;

  • one free virtual card;

  • 0.25% referral rewards;

  • standard fees and support.

Core increases the base cashback rate to 3% and adds higher rewards for selected AI-related spending. Core users can receive up to 5% cashback on eligible AI purchases, up to two free virtual cards and priority support.

Core currently costs $199 per year, although users can alternatively qualify by locking 20,000 XPL for 12 months.

The premium Platinum tier offers 4% base cashback and up to 10% cashback on eligible AI spending. It also includes up to three free virtual cards, VIP support, covered FX fees and additional travel-related benefits.

Platinum members can receive up to $600 per year in flight cashback under the applicable rewards program. Additional subscription benefits can include services such as ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro.

Cashback is paid in XPL, Plasma's native token. Only qualifying transactions earn rewards, and certain categories such as ATM withdrawals, money transfers, cryptocurrency purchases, gambling, cash equivalents and similar transactions are excluded.

Plasma One also allows users to earn up to 6% yield on eligible stablecoin balances. The yield is generated through third-party DeFi protocols rather than through a traditional bank savings account. Rates are variable and can change.

Another major feature is zero-fee stablecoin transfers between eligible users. This allows Plasma One to function not only as a card but also as a payment and remittance app.

The card supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, subject to regional availability.

Eligibility

Plasma One availability depends on the user's country and regulatory eligibility.

The service uses different Bridge entities depending on the user's region. US residents are serviced by Bridge Building Inc., EEA residents by Bridge Building Sp. Z.o.o., and users in other supported jurisdictions by Bridge Building Limited.

Users must complete the required identity verification before accessing regulated financial features such as the card and fiat account services.

Although the Visa card can be used in more than 180 countries, this does not mean residents of every country can sign up for Plasma One. Card usage coverage and account eligibility are separate.

How to get the card

  1. Download the Plasma One app and create an account.

  2. Complete the required identity verification.

  3. Add stablecoins or supported local currency to your Plasma One account.

  4. Choose a membership tier — Lite, Core or Platinum.

  5. Create your virtual Plasma One Card. Plasma says setup can take around three minutes for eligible users.

  6. Add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay if available in your region.

  7. Use the card online or at physical merchants wherever Visa is accepted.

  8. Order or use an available physical card if your selected tier and region support it.
