The Cardano Card is a multi-chain crypto Visa card developed by EMURGO in partnership with Wirex. It allows users to spend ADA and hundreds of other supported crypto and fiat assets anywhere Visa is accepted, including online, in stores, and at ATMs. The card is distributed by EMURGO and issued through Wirex, with all card activity managed in the Wirex app.
The product is designed around the Cardano ecosystem but is not limited to ADA. Cardano Card currently advertises support for more than 685 assets, including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, USDC and USDT.
Background
EMURGO and Wirex officially launched the Cardano Card at the Cardano Summit in Berlin in November 2025. The partnership gave Cardano users access to Wirex's established card and payment infrastructure while introducing ADA-focused rewards and additional Cardano-specific functionality.
Both virtual and physical versions have since been introduced, with the official Cardano Card website currently stating that physical cards are available in limited quantities. The broader product roadmap also includes ADA staking, self-custodial spending, DeFi and real-world asset features. Some of these functions are still marked as upcoming rather than currently available.
Terms and fees
Cardano Card offers four membership tiers. Standard costs €0 per month and offers up to 1% Cryptoback, while Premium costs €9.99 per month and raises the maximum reward rate to 3%. Elite costs €29.99 per month and offers up to 8% Cryptoback. A separate invitation-only Founders tier is also listed. In markets where pricing is denominated in U.S. dollars, Premium and Elite are listed at $11.99 and $34.99 per month respectively.
Because the card is issued through Wirex, some operational fees follow Wirex's regional pricing and may differ by jurisdiction. Wirex currently lists standard card issuance as free in its main supported regions, while delivery charges may apply to physical cards. ATM withdrawals are generally free up to a monthly regional allowance — for example, £200 in the UK or €200 in the EEA — after which a 2% fee applies. Crypto exchange costs vary by asset and are shown before the transaction is confirmed.
Key features
Cardano Card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted and supports both online and in-person purchases. Users can swap and spend ADA alongside more than 685 supported crypto and fiat assets through the Wirex app. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported for compatible users and regions.
One of the card's main differentiators is its ADA-focused rewards structure. Depending on the membership tier, users can earn up to 8% Cryptoback on eligible card spending. The official site also advertises annual ADA balance rewards of up to 1% for Standard, 6% for Premium and 16% for Elite members.
The card also connects spending with other crypto services. Users can access stablecoin borrowing using ADA as collateral, while additional features such as automatic ADA staking and yield-generating RWA products are part of the product roadmap.
Travel benefits are another part of the offering. Cardholders can access hotel booking offers through Wirex Travel, with the Cardano Card website advertising discounts of up to 65% at participating properties while retaining eligibility for applicable card rewards.
Eligibility
Card availability depends on the user's country of residence and Wirex's regional eligibility requirements. Applicants must create or use a Wirex account and complete identity verification before they can obtain the card.
The Cardano Card is not available for issuance in every country. Regional restrictions are determined by Wirex and may change over time, so applicants should check availability during registration before subscribing to a paid tier or ordering a physical card.
