Gemini Credit Card is a USD-denominated credit card integrated with the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange. Unlike prepaid crypto cards, it uses a traditional credit line rather than spending digital assets held in a wallet.
Cardholders make purchases in fiat and automatically earn cryptocurrency rewards deposited into their Gemini exchange accounts. Rewards can be held, traded or withdrawn, subject to Gemini's account requirements.
The card is available in physical metal and virtual formats, including Bitcoin, Solana and XRP-themed designs. All versions share the same core rewards structure.
Crypto rewards
Gemini offers category-based cashback on eligible purchases:
The 4% rate applies only to the first $300 spent monthly in that category. Additional spending earns 1%. Merchant classification determines eligibility, so purchases at Walmart, Costco and similar retailers generally do not qualify for grocery rewards.
Users can choose BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL or more than 50 other supported cryptocurrencies and change their preferred reward asset whenever they want.
Most rewards are deposited into the Gemini account when a purchase is authorized. Some transactions, including certain hotel, gas station and rental payments, receive rewards after settlement.
Gemini also offers promotional cashback of up to 10% at selected merchants, subject to offer-specific spending caps and conditions.
Fees and credit terms
Gemini Credit Card has no annual fee or foreign transaction fee.
However, carrying an unpaid balance incurs interest. According to the September 2026 cardholder agreement, the variable purchase APR ranges from 16.74% to 34.74%, depending on creditworthiness. Paying the full statement balance by the due date generally avoids purchase interest.
Cash advances incur a fee of $10 or 3%, whichever is greater, plus a variable APR starting at 29.74% under the current agreement. Late and returned payments can each incur fees of up to $35.
Cardholders cannot directly repay their credit card debt using cryptocurrency. Payments must be made in USD through supported banking methods.
Availability and mobile payments
Gemini Credit Card is available to eligible US residents across all 50 states. Applications require identity verification and a credit assessment.
Users can check prequalification without affecting their credit score. Completing the full application triggers a hard credit inquiry, which may affect it.
Approved applicants receive a virtual card for immediate use, while the physical metal card typically arrives within five to seven days.
The card supports Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. It also includes Mastercard World Elite benefits, such as selected travel, shopping and security protections.
Cryptocurrency rewards are held in a custodial Gemini exchange account, exposing their value to cryptocurrency market fluctuations.
