About
The Ledger Card, officially called the CL Card compatible with Ledger, is a crypto payment card provided by Baanx and integrated with the Ledger ecosystem. It lets users fund a card with crypto held through Ledger Wallet and spend it on everyday purchases.
The main idea behind the card is to connect crypto self-custody with traditional payments. Users can keep their assets secured with a Ledger signer and transfer only the amount they want to spend to their CL Card account. Once assets are transferred to the card account, however, they are no longer held in self-custody.
Crypto is converted into fiat at the time of purchase, so users do not need to manually exchange their assets before paying.
Payments and supported cryptocurrencies
The CL Card can be funded directly through Ledger Wallet. Ledger currently highlights support for assets including BTC, ETH, SOL and stablecoins, while the complete list of available cryptocurrencies is shown in the Card section of the app and may expand over time.
The card can be used for online and in-store purchases and supports Apple Pay and Google Pay for contactless payments. Ledger states that users can spend at more than 90 million merchants and withdraw local currency from supported ATMs.
A Ledger hardware signer is not mandatory to obtain or use the CL Card. However, using one allows users to authorize transfers from their Ledger-secured wallet before assets are moved to the card account.
Crypto cashback
CL Card users can earn 1% crypto cashback on card purchases without staking.
The available reward asset depends on the user's country. Ledger states that customers in the United States can choose BTC or USDC, while users in other supported markets can receive cashback in BTC or USDT.
Rewards are calculated from eligible card transactions made during the month and are distributed at the end of the month.
Crypto-backed credit
The CL Card also includes options for accessing liquidity without immediately selling crypto.
Through Cryptodraft, eligible users can use crypto as collateral to access a stablecoin credit line. Ledger also lists Stableloans, which provide another way to borrow against digital assets.
Rates can start from 0%, depending on the product and country of residence. Availability is regional, and Ledger specifically notes that U.S. residents are not eligible for these credit lines.
Availability
CL Card availability depends on the user's country. Ledger's current materials list the card in the UK and EEA, while its newer U.S. documentation states that it is also available in the United States except New York and Vermont, with expansion to additional markets continuing.
Because eligibility and card programs differ by jurisdiction, users should check the Card section inside Ledger Wallet for current availability in their country.
